Lorena Eckell is nowadays one of the young outstanding Latin-American pianists.


She has given recitals and has performed as a soloist with orchestras of Poland, Romania, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Peru and El Salvador, such as the Czestochowa Philharmonic Orchestra (Poland), Ploiesti Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), National Symphony Orchestra of Peru, the National Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador, the Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra (Mexico) the Symphony Orchestra of Trujillo (Peru), and in Argentina: the Symphony Orchestra Ciudad de Buenos Aires, the Symphony Orchestra of Mar del Plata, the Symphony Orchestra of Tres de Febrero, the Symphony Orchestra of Lanus, the Symphony Orchestra of San Martín, the Symphony Orchestra of Avellaneda, and the Symphony Orchestra of Chaco, among others.


   In 2005 Lorena was invited to perform in the opening of the First International Festival “Tango Fusion”, organized at the occasion of the “IV Summit of the Americas” with Mar del Plata Symphony Orchestra.


   During 2006/7 she recorded a CD based on argentine composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Alberto Ginastera, Carlos Guastavino and Juan José Castro (Fonocal Records).


  During 2007 Lorena was specially invited to open the International Season of the Peru National Symphony Orchestra, as well as to the opening of the National Season of the Chaco Symphony Orchestra, performing in both occasions the Piano Concerto N°5 “Emperor” of Beethoven. In October 2008, Lorena peformed with Austrian violinist Wofgang David in Bariloche, Argentina at the” Llao-Llao International Festival”, where the concert was extraordinary received by both audience and critics (“…We could listen to violinist Wolfgang David and pianist Lorena Eckell.   In 2008 Lorena was selected by the Romanian composer Marius Herea to premiere his Concertino for Piano and Orchestra. The World Premiere took place in Ploiesti, Romania in February 2009. Composer Marius Herea said: I consider her as the best choice for my Concertino and I am predicting that Lorena Eckell - who has a very different personality than Martha Argerich, will become in 10 or 15 years from now as worldwide known as her compatriot”.


   Apart from the fact that Lorena performed at Marius Herea’s World Premiere in February 2009, this year has been particularly productive for Lorena for her other achievements.

In March 2009 Lorena has got the Annual Prize “Women of the Year of San Isidro (Argentina)” due to her rising career.

In May 2009 Lorena toured Poland and Spain, performing both concertos and piano recitals.

In July 2009 she was invited to perform two recitals at “Casa Beethoven International Festival”, receiving excellent reviews in both recitals. Said Festival is one of the most important Festivals of Latin-America.

Especialized in Astor Piazzolla and Alberto Ginastera music, Lorena Eckell includes in her repertoire the Ginastera Piano Concerto and The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, by Astor Piazzolla.
   

She is also very interested in chamber music. Since 1997 she has performed regularly in several of the most distinguished concert halls in Argentina and Spain with Marcelo Rebuffi, sponsored by the Argentine Embassy.

Ths young artist has taken part in Radio and Television broadcasts several times in her country and abroad.

Lorena was graduated at the "Buenos Aires Juan José Catro Conservatoire". She has studied piano with Inés Gómez Carrillo, Aldo Antognazzi, and Ivan Citera in Madrid. Pia Sebastiani, the famous argentine pianist of great international trajectory, has said about her: “Lorena is an artist of an excellent technique, with great inventiveness and very personal in her interpretations”.
  

Lorena´s other recent and future engagemnts during 2009/10 recitals and piano concertos in Argentina and in foreign countries (Poland, Spain, Mexico, Peru, among others).
